Located at an elevation of more than 9000 ft above sea level, this tiny town is a visual delight. Lachung, which means “small pass”, comes under the Protected Area of North Sikkim. At an altitude of 7200ft, Pelling is a pleasant yet relatively unexplored town in the foothills of the Mt.Kanchenjunga.
